Crib!

The nursery is coming along! Finally done with refinishing all the furniture. The crib is the only new piece of furniture that we bought, everything else was either mine from childhood and the rocking chair was Clarke's grandmother's then his mother's.

But the reason for this post....the crib is finally here!! It took forever to pick which one we wanted. Changing ideas about which color, style then researching to make sure it was safe and got good reviews.

Came home to this today after lunch with my mom. Can't wait to put it together this weekend with Clarke!

29 Weeks

How Far Along: 29 Weeks.

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of an acorn squash.

Weight Gain: I've gained about 13 pounds. I've been gaining about a pound a week recently.

Maternity Clothes: Yup! Although I still fit into regular sundresses as long as they are cut up high above my belly.

Gender: All girl!

Movement: Feeling more and more. I've started seeing her move from the outside now.

Sleep: Ugh, I've been waking up around 3-4am and having trouble getting comfortable. Sometimes it takes me almost 2 hours to fall back asleep.

Symptoms: Back pain.

Food Cravings: Ice cream and recently bagels with cream cheese.Yum.

Food Aversions: I was eating leftover Mexican and the steak in my burrito really turned me off. I had to throw the rest away. This was the first time I really didn't want something that I normally love.

What I Miss: Sleeping comfortably, and being able to be on my feet for more than a couple hours without my back hurting.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Finishing up the nursery and my first baby shower. Also, in September we are going to Hatteras Island with Clarke's family. Can't wait for the beach!

Best Moment This Week: Had such a great weekend. We went to the outlets yesterday and I loved looking at all the cute baby girl clothes. Clarke's birthday was Thursday and we had such a great time celebrating.

We were gone all day yesterday and so there is no "real" picture this week either. You can see my belly though!

Happy Birthday Clarke!

Today is my husband's 29th birthday!
I feel so incredibly blessed to be married to this man. I can honestly say he is the perfect match for me, and can't imagine bringing a baby into this world with anyone else. I can't wait to see him in his new role as a father!
I also can't wait to go out to celebrate tonight, and eat the chocolate cake I baked yesterday.

So happy birthday hubby! I love you so much!!!!

28 Weeks

How Far Along: Officially in the third and last trimester!!!!

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of an eggplant, and between 1.5 and 2.5 pounds.

Weight Gain: The scale at the doctor's said 12lbs and scale at home says 11lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Same as last week. Got some maternity tights to wear under all my favorite cotton dresses this fall.

Gender: Girl!!

Movement: I think I felt her head one morning last week. Something hard was kinda sticking out of my stomach, it was weird but really neat too.

Sleep: Ugh. Didn't have the best sleep this past week. Hopefully I'll figure something out.

Symptoms: Back still hurts. No new symptoms so that's good.

Food Cravings: Still ice cream!!

What I Miss: Sleeping however I want.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Baby shower is coming up, I'm really excited about that!!

Best Moment This Week: I passed my glucose test, so that was really great!!

It rained almost all day today, so I didn't get a picture outside. The good ol' bathroom was I got for today!

Melted Crayon Artwork

I recently saw all these cute pictures of melted crayon artwork on pinterest. I thought they were so cute and it looked pretty easy and inexpensive, so I decided to try one for the nursery.

I bought 5 packs of crayons at Target (a bunch of little ones so I could get lots of greens and some yellows) and some cute flowers at Hobby Lobby. I already had the canvas and a hot glue gun, so this whole project only cost me $8.

This was super easy. I just glued the crayons onto the canvas in the order I wanted them, then took a hairdryer and after a couple minutes they started to melt. I tipped the canvas downward to make the wax move down the canvas. I glued the flowers on and I was done!

I love how it turned out, with the different color waxes melting together. Although it does break some design rules about art (putting it smack dab in the middle) but it works for this piece. Click Here for more details on how to make this.

27 Weeks

How Far Along: 27 Weeks!

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a rutabaga. She weighs about 2 lbs.

Weight Gain: I've gained 10 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Cotton Dresses are still my favorite thing! I am ready for cooler weather to pair them with some leggings and Uggs. Also so I can wear cardigans over maternity tanks and my dresses.

Gender: So excited it's a girl. I was talking to a friend at church who has a 7 month old baby girl and she was saying she picks her outfit around which bow she wants her to wear. Can't wait!

Movement: Def. feeling more movement and it's more intense. Clarke is feeling her move more too.

Sleep: Sleep is getting harder. Using my body pillow has helped though.

Symptoms: This week my back has started to hurt. It's normal because I am carrying more weight in the front but it's no fun.

Food Cravings: Mexican food! And of course ice cream still.

What I Miss: It's back to running. Especially after reading this post on one of my favorite blogs.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Finishing the nursery! We are close, just a few more things to make for on the wall and the crib.

Best Moment This Week: Shopping with Clarke yesterday for things for our baby. We got her crib mattress and the cutest little dress on clearance at Gymboree.

I must say, this is the first picture I've looked at of myself pregnant and thought "oh my gosh, I look huge!" I know I am suppose to, it's good she is growing, but yeah I am getting big.

Friday Night Ramblings

The nursery is coming along. Finally finished the dresser and nighstand. I am so happy to be done with that! It def. took longer than I thought it would. But I love the way it looks. Just needs the rest of the hardware on it. I will take a picture and post soon! I just ordered this print off Etsy and I'm really excited about it.
I had added this to my favorites a long time before I was even pregnant after seeing it on a blog. But I knew if I ever had a little girl I would want this in her room.

I am loving all the fall things people are posting on pinterest. I am always ready for the next season and I am really looking forward to autumn.
I really want to make this for our front porch! Maybe one with baby's monogram?!

With that said I can't believe this fall I will have a baby! I am ready for the cooler weather and pumpkin...yum! But I am not ready for this baby to come quite yet!

Not much else for this post.....I am off to bed!

26 Weeks

How Far Along: 26 weeks.

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a head of lettuce!

Weight Gain: According to my scale at home I've gained 9.5 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Some regular shirts still fit me and regular sundresses do too. When I wear shorts or pants it's def. maternity. My favorite maternity piece is my bathing suite though.

Gender: It's a girl, and they better have gotten it right because her nursery is def. girly!

Movement: Yup!!

Sleep: Sleeping okay, some nights better than others.

Symptoms: Just getting tired a little more than normal. Honestly the second trimester has been pretty great when it comes to negative symptoms. I guess it's to make up for how awful I felt in the first!

Food Cravings: Any kind of ice cream.

What I Miss: The regulars: cold lunch meat, running, sleeping on my stomach and being able to lift.

What I’m Looking Forward To: We should have all the furniture finished by this time next week. So ready to be done with that!

Best Moment This Week: This has nothing to do with pregnancy but I got the sweetest note from a parent on the last day of summer school. Her 3 year old little boy had never been to any kind of preschool and he was just found eligible for special ed services, so this was his first experience in anything like that. He had made soooo much progress and just to get a note thanking me was the best. It was such a sweet reminder of why I love working with special needs children, also kinda bittersweet as it was my last day as I'll be staying home.

We forgot to take a picture this morning before church (which is when I normally get Clarke to take it) and I didn't feel like changing again. I almost just didn't do a picture but y'all were so sweet to request one last time I didn't. So at least you can see my belly here!

August

I can't believe it's already August! Where did July go? All my coworkers
and I agreed that doing summer school made July go by really fast.

Things I am loving about it being August:

1. The Olympics! I posted on Facebook that it makes me want to run another marathon! I am really loving the gymnastics though. It has always been my favorite, and I love love love team USA's leotards. So glad they won the gold too!

2. As of today I am officially a stay at home mommy! I don't know if I've mentioned it on here but I am going to be staying home with the baby. I did summer school and now that it's over I'm done. I would have loved to work up until the baby came but I didn't think it would be fair to the students and teachers to be there for 2 months then leave and make everyone transition in the middle of the school year. So now my new job title is officially mommy, so exciting!

3. Yesterday was the 3 year anniversary of my grandma's passing. It's hard to believe it's been 3 years already. I wish she could be here to meet her great granddaughter. (I guess that isn't something I love about August but it's apart of it for me.)

4. I am almost done with the second trimester, and in August I will start my third. This pregnancy is going by so fast! While I am not looking forward to getting even bigger, I'm happy that she is growing and it's getting even closer till we meet her.

5. My goal for August is to finish the nursery. I'm pretty sure we can get it all done by then. Almost done painting the furniture and then the only big thing left is the crib. It's been fun putting it together but I'm ready to have it finished.

So I am really looking forward to August, it's gonna be a great month!
