July 4th Weekend

We had a fun 4 day weekend for the 4th. Clarke got that Monday off in-between so we took advantage of having daddy home and went peach picking in Crozet. For the actual 4th we went to our neighborhood pool party. Food trucks and lots of swimming!
Peach cider donuts just might have been a highlight for us! So good!
I managed to snap these photos before we went to the pool. Hope y'all had a good 4th of July as well!!!

16 months

Luke, how are you 16 months already?
You got tubes put in your ears a few weeks ago. I hope they help with all the ear infections!
You are such a happy boy, still easy going too. You love music, your blue blanket, applesauce pouches, eating anything, your big sister, running, getting into the trash can, playing with cars, balls and animals. Seriously, you love the neighbors cats and dogs! Being outside is your favorite, you will bring me your shoes all.the.time. wanting to go out.
You are a big boy! At your 15 month wellness check up you were 95th percentile for height, 33inches tall, and 90th for weight, 27 pounds. You still got those adorable chunky cheeks.
We love you so much baby Luke, yes we still call you that.
You are saying all kinds of new words! Your favorite is uh-oh when you drop something, most of the time on purpose. You definitely let me know when you are unhappy about something now.
We love you so much sweet boy!! Happy 16 months!

Mothers Day 2017

We had a fun mother's day last Sunday. Clarke grilled out for us and we took a nice walk around the lake.
I got a new lens for my camera, which I have been absolutely loving! Hence the reason for the walk.

I think we are going to need more wall space in our house if I keep taking so many pictures......

Spring Updates

It's been awhile since I've posted so I thought I should update!
Luke got his first haircut back in February. He was not a fan!!
I went to Wrightsville Beach for Melanie's bachelorette. It was a fun girls weekend, and nice break away.
I got a dslr camera! I have wanted one for forever. I remember being pregnant with Chloe and wanting one, but knowing we would be going to one income and feeling like I couldn't justify spending that much on a camera.
It's been so much fun to learn how to shoot in manual mode. There is this creative part of me that I feel like I haven't tapped into in such a long time. It's been so refreshing to learn something new.
I helped to host a bridal shower for Melanie.
I ran the Monument Avenue 10k earlier this month. Back in January I decided I needed a goal to get back into running. I thought a 10k would be a good distance, since not too long. But y'all, it was so much harder than I thought it would be! Finding time to run with two littles is no joke! But, I managed to get back up to 6 miles again.
Of course my phone died right after the race so this was the only pic I got!
We did a neighborhood egg hunt and a school egg hunt.
This past weekend me and Clarke left the kids with my mom and went to Charlottesville. We celebrated our 8th anniversary!
We started with lunch at a cute taco place, Brazos Tacos. Then we went to Bold Rock
We sat and enjoyed our cider in the sunshine. We got so lucky with a beautiful day. There was a huge hill and I thought "I don't have to worry about one of my children falling down that hill!!!" It was so nice to just sit!!
We have been enjoying spring and the warmer weather. Yay for pretty flowers!

Well, that was a long post, I guess that's what happens when you don't blog as much as you wish you could!!

Disney Trip!!!!!

We just got back from Disney World, and I wanted to blog about it while all the memories are still fresh! We had the best time, it's so true about experiencing the magic through your child's eyes, it's the best!
We started our trip with lunch at Chef Mickey's. I went here when I was their age, so it was so special. Chloe got to meet her beloved Minnie Mouse.
We checked out our resort next, especially the awesome Finding Nemo pool.
The next day was a full one, spent in the Magic Kingdom.
We had lunch at Be Our Guest, besides having to wait for our reservation, we loved it. It really is just like the movie.
Of course we had to do It's a Small World!
We got to meet lots of characters, eat yummy treats and I got to share the Country Bears Jamboree with the kids. It's a classic and it was so fun to see them enjoying the exact same show I once did too.
I was hoping the kids would make it to Wishes, but with small children you never know. Well we made it, even Luke enjoyed it. Perfect way to end the best day ever.
The next day was more low key, I knew Luke would def need a nap after Magic Kingdom. So we headed to Disney Springs and then lunch at Wilderness Lodge.
That afternoon Clarke took Chloe to the pool while Luke got to nap. Then we headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner at Boma. Got to see the animals first!
Our last day was the Mary Poppins breakfast at the Grand Floridian.
Luke absolutely loved meeting Alice. It was the only character that he really smiled at. It was so cute.
When we were getting ready to hop on the monorail we ran into Sleeping Beauty!! Chloe had wanted to meet her, and we just happened to be in the right place, right time. It was very special.
We took a quick stop at The Polynesian for some Dole Whip!

Then we headed south to my dad's condo for a few days with family. I was so thankful to be able to do this. It was our first family vacation as a family of four. And now I can't wait to go back!!!
