2016 Wrap Up!

Happy New Year! 2016 ended on a good note, celebrating Christmas and my birthday.
I fixed up my dollhouse from when I was a little girl, and gave it to Chloe. We both love playing with it!
My birthday was the next day, we had fun going to lunch with family and then I went to Cinnebistro with friends later that night. We saw Passengers, I enjoyed it especially since I wasn't sure what to really expect.
I'm not gonna lie, the highlight was running into John and Sherry from young house love They are my favorite bloggers and when I saw them I was beyond excited. I got a picture, it was pretty amazing, and such a fun surprise for my birthday.
I also got to hang up the new chandelier in the dinning room, I love it. Goodbye ceiling fan!
With wrapping up 2016 I am really looking forward to what 2017 has in store. It was a good year, but started off really hard. A year ago we were still living at my mom's, waiting to close on our house in North Carolina, and waiting for Luke to come.  I'm so glad he is here now, he finally has a nursery in our own home and we have settled in.

So here's to 2017!

Sunday Update

Around here recently....

Chloe has been enjoying all her Christmas gifts, especially her new activity gym. She'll just stare and smile at all her "treetop friends" hanging above her. She'll kick her feet and sometimes grab for them too, it's so cute. Betty also likes to watch!

Friday night me and Clarke went on our first "date night" since Chloe was born. It was really nice to have time for just the two of us, but I kept saying how weird it was to not have her there. We saw Les Miserables, it was sooo good. We saw it on Broadway back in 2007 when we visited NYC and we have loved this musical ever since.

Last night Chloe slept in her crib for the first time, well sorta. I decided it was time for her to start sleeping in her crib, in her own room. At first she loved it, although she wasn't asleep. In hopes of establishing a routine I put her in her crib around her normal bedtime. After an hour of crying we finally broke down and put her in her little napper, still in her room. She fell asleep and slept for almost 6 hours straight! This is the longest she has ever gone, so I called it a success. She also wore her sleep sack for the first time, and she really liked this. Tonight we'll try the crib again.

I've gotten back into running/working out again. It's been so great to be able to run again, even though it's hard. I keep telling myself the more I run the easier it will get. Although running has been so great for me I think it is causing problems with my milk supply. Yesterday I realized that on days I work out I seem to not make as much milk. I read to drink more water, I am really hoping this helps. Any other moms out there have this problem?

Weekend Movie Review

This past weekend I saw two really good movies, so I wanted to share.

Friday night me and hubby rented Soul Surfer from the redbox. I had been wanting to see it for some time now, I'm so glad I finally got to watch it. I saw on some of the reviews they said it was too cheesey, but I love that kinda stuff, and I really enjoyed this movie.
It was really inspiring, after the movie I googled about Bethany Hamilton (the girl who this movie is based on) and she was 13 when she was attacked by the shark. 13! I couldn't believe someone that young overcame such adversity. Loved it.

Saturday night after one of my best friend's bridal shower (where I unfortunately forgot my camera) a bunch of us went and saw The Help. I had read the book, and loved it, so I really wanted to see the movie.
I really liked this movie, although I do think the book was better. The movie didn't go into as much detail as the book did as far as character development and some other side stories, which I know most movies based on books can't. But overall it was a great movie, and I must say I loved Minnie's character the most.

Both of these movies make me so grateful. Seeing the hardships that these characters overcame reminds me of how incredibly blessed I am.

Because I'm a Dork

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge Golden Girl fan. It started at the very end of high school and I still just love them. I own every season on DVD, because I'm cool like that. I blogged about it here and here.

I recently saw this cool remix of their theme song (which was my ring tone for several years) and thought I would share. Maybe in hopes of finding another crazy Golden Girl fan like me.

Cardboard Testimony

I recently saw this video on kelly's korner and thought it was amazing. If you haven't seen it, you need to. It is so powerful, a true testimony how God's power and love can change our lives.

I have been thinking what my cardboard testimony is, and I finally got it:

Front:
paralyzed by anxiety

Back:
living with peace and confidence that God's promises have given me

Video Church

This past year I started being in videos for my church. They tape them, edit them, make you look good and then show them on Sunday mornings to go along with the service. I really enjoy doing it. I've met some great people and its always fun. My most recent video, bad company corrupts good character, is currently on Richmond.com. Here it is below:

I was really surprised when Tori told me it was on there. Here is another one me and Clarke did earlier this year:

I'm not in this one, but I loved it. Here it is:

Hope you enjoy! :)
