32 Weeks

How Far Along: 32 weeks!

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a squash. At my last ultrasound 2 weeks ago he was 3 pounds 2 ounces.

Weight Gain: 15 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yup, except pajama or stretchy pants.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: He is quite the kicker. Moving more and more each day.

Sleep: Okay, but getting harder to be comfortable. I miss sleeping on my stomach.

Symptoms: My back hurts. Tightness and stretching. My skin is unusually dry too.

Food Cravings: Coffee, Chick-fil-A, Bagels!

What I Miss: Cold medicine this week. I've got a bad cold and there is nothing I can take. Dr. said I could take Benadryl, but it makes me so nervous.

Best Moment This Week: We got our pictures back from our maternity family pictures, and I love them. It was such a stress with having to reschedule and plan everything, but in the end I'm glad we did it.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had the best long weekend celebrating Thanksgiving, and we even got an offer on our house!! Of course we weren't expecting it, but we are beyond thrilled. After almost 6 months on the market, it's been a long road here. We close ten days before my scheduled c-section, so we are relieved to be done with it before baby comes. It's such an answered prayer!

So back to Thanksgiving...
We were so thankful that we didn't have to travel this year! Especially with me being so pregnant and a 3 year old. Everyone came over to my mom's house and we ate a lot of good food.

The day after we followed our tradition of getting our Christmas tree.
Today we are going to decorate, and make my favorite Christmas cookies after church. I love the holidays, and this year Chloe really understands everything so it's so much more fun!!

Gratitude List

I've been doing the She Reads Truth Psalms of Gratitude study as we lead up to Thanksgiving. I love all their studies, and this one is no exception. Thought I would share today's as I list things I am thankful for, it definitely made me think.

I will give thanks in…

  1. this joyful thing: baby Luke and my Chloe Mae
  2. this suffering: not having our own place to do life
  3. this certainty: that god has a plan for our family
  4. this stress: trying to sell our house
  5. this injustice: the Syrian refugees who need homes
  6. this sorrow: the people of Paris
  7. this plenty: our needs are met, a loving husband, Chloe's school
  8. and loving family and friends
  9. this want: a home of our own
  10. this wandering: the transition to Richmond
  11. this waiting: for our house to sell in North Carolina

Rejoice always!
Pray constantly.
Give thanks in everything,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
-1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
And I'll end with a picture of Chloe in the leaves, because why not?

Chloe Turns 3!

Yesterday my baby turned 3! I know she isn't a baby anymore, but it seems like she was just the other day. We had the best time celebrating.
The day before her party she helped me make cupcakes. She did a great job actually mixing and putting the batter into the baking cups. The day before her real birthday was her party. We started out the day giving her our gift. I repainted an old cabinet for her fridge to match her kitchen.
There was pizza inside too, since it's one of her favorite foods we figured her kitchen needed one. Then it was time to get ready for her party. Chloe wanted to help get things ready, she was so excited this year. Of course the theme had to be minnie mouse.
Chloe had been talking for weeks about blowing out her candle on her cupcake. Oh, and I'm wearing the ears because Chloe didn't want to, I figured someone should!
I loved watching her open presents this year, she was really into it, saying "what's next?" She got a bike from her grandparents, and she couldn't wait to try it outside.
This was by far my favorite party for her. She was into everything, and so excited about it. Seeing all my closest friends and family come celebrate meant so much to me.
Monday was her actual birthday, or as Chloe said "It's my birthday again!" Her teacher said I could bring in popsicles and read a book to her class. I loved going into her classroom and reading. We went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch after school, her favorite.
Today she keeps saying it's my birthday, and I have to tell her the harsh truth that it's over. But we went to the doctor for her well check up and I was so proud of her, she didn't cry at all for the finger prick or flu shot. I can't believe I have a 3 year old who is going to be a big sister!!

28 weeks...hello 3rd trimester!

How Far Along: 28 weeks, officially in the 3rd trimester.

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a an eggplant, about 2 pounds.

Weight Gain: 12 pounds, I'm surprised it's not more.

Maternity Clothes: Yup, except pajama or stretchy pants.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: He is moving so much! A lot more than Chloe did, especially when I'm sitting still.

Sleep: I can always fall asleep right away because I'm so tired, but then when I wake up to go to the bathroom, my thoughts keep me awake and then I feel restless.

Symptoms: Tightness and stretching. I can tell he is growing, which is good, but sometimes it's uncomfortable. My back hurts but the end of the day.

Food Cravings: Nothing our of the ordinary. Coffee and Chick-fil-A!

What I Miss: Just being able to keep up with Chloe. Also, it's about that time in the pregnancy when I start to miss running.

Best Moment This Week: I love it when Chloe talks about her baby brother coming. She tried to feed him the other day by putting a pita chip and hummus into my belly button! She definitely knows he's in there.

Chloe wanted to join in the picture this week.....kinda.

One more thing, at my doctor's appointment last week I was diagnosed with a placenta previa. It showed up at my 20 week ultrasound but my doctor said not to worry because most of the time it moves up, it's too low right now. I didn't really think about it, but when they checked it still hasn't moved up, and it's unlikely that it will now. It means I'm more at risk for preterm labor and bleeding. It's scary because I hemorrhaged with Chloe's delivery and now I'm at risk for that happening again because of this. It just complicates things. He will probably be coming a lot sooner, I will know more after meeting with the high risk doctor next week. It's really scary and I would love your prayers!

Halloween 2015

Thought I'd post some pictures of trick or treating last night!
This was the best I could get. She totally wasn't into getting her picture taken. But I think she was the cutest princess Sophia!
We did some pumpkin carving the night before. Chloe was all about the Jack o Lantern.
She loved pulling all the seeds out and couldn't wait to put the candle inside.

Hope everyone else had a happy halloween!
