Luke's First Week: Photo Dump

Thought I would post some pictures from Luke's first week. So far he is a very happy baby! We had some trouble with figuring out the whole nursing thing, almost didn't get to leave the hospital because he lost 10% of his birthweight. But, once he figure it out he is quite the good eater now!
Big sister Chloe loves to snuggle!
He also experienced his first blizzard. I brought him out for a few minutes to get some pictures. Overall he wasn't too impressed, ha!
On a side note, big sister Chloe loved the snow.
Of course he rocked his first monogram!
And he got his first bath, which he was not a fan of.
So far, for a newborn, he is a good sleeper. The past couple nights he's been giving me 2, four hour stretches in between night feedings. I'm hoping he will continue to sleep well.

It's amazing how much can change in just one week. We are so in love and we really feel like this sweet baby boy completes our family, it's such a great feeling.

Luke Fitzhugh

He's here! We welcomed our sweet baby boy Monday morning, January 18th at exactly 8:30 am!
He weighted 8 pounds 5 ounces and is 20 inches. I couldn't believe how big he was!!

I'll post more about his birth story and our first few days, but so far things have been going great and we are so in love.

37 Weeks...Full Term!

How Far Along: 37 weeks, officially full term! Now he's just putting on weight, 2 weeks to go.

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a winter melon.

Weight Gain: Ugh, about 26, already more than with Chloe, he is definitely bigger.

Maternity Clothes: Yup, only a few pajama or sweatpants that are non maternity fit me now.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: So much!

Sleep: Not so great anymore. So uncomfortable it's hard to fall asleep.

Symptoms: My skin has been so dry from winter and hormones. I hate to complain, but it's been really bothering me. My hands and feet are swollen, acid reflux, and my back hurts. He's also moved down some more so there's a lot of pressure. Can you tell I'm done?

Food Cravings: This past week I've been craving cranberry juice. But for most of this pregnancy I'd say it has been coffee and bagels.

What I Miss: Just having my body back. I feel extremely pregnant and it just makes everything harder.

Best Moment This Week: Enjoying Christmas. That was last week, but it was so fun watching Chloe open her gifts and just thinking next year we will be a family of four.

2016

Hello 2016! I'm pretty glad to see you. Honestly, 2015 wasn't my favorite year, in fact it was one of our hardest. I definitely had to let go of expectations, trust in God's plan for our family and learn to wait. Wait a lot.
But I'm so thankful for this, my babies and my family. And I can't wait for what 2016 will bring. Baby brother is coming in about 2 weeks, we will finally find a permanent home, we have some pretty fun trips already planned and there are weddings to celebrate of some dear people in my life. Here's to 2016!
