Christmas 2015

We started out Christmas eve with church, we were lucky that Clarke got the whole day off. We even got a fairly good family photo before service.
It was a rainy day, at least not too cold, but definitely didn't feel like winter. The next day we had the ac running it was so warm. That night we had dinner and opened presents with the whites. We put out our milk, cookies and reindeer food (oats and glitter Chloe made in school) Chloe didn't like the idea of Santa coming into our house, so we told her an elf would bring her presents for Santa.
Christmas morning was really fun this year because Chloe finally was into opening her presents. She had asked for a Bitty Baby, saw her in the catalog.
Chloe had fun playing with her new toys that day. I think one of her favorites was the check up kit. She's being giving all her animals and babies check ups since.
My mom made a nice dinner that night, complete with a huge 5 layered white chocolate cheesecake.
Hard to believe next Christmas we will have an almost one year old with us. I hope y'all had a very merry Christmas as well!

Christmas Catch Up!

We've had fun getting ready for Christmas this past month. Some fun things we've been up to...
One of my favorites is just hearing Chloe talk about baby Jesus in the manger with hay. And Joseph and Mary and the donkey who goes click clack click clack. I love that she is starting to get a picture of the real reason for Christmas.
We went to see the lights at Lewis Ginter. It was fun walking around and seeing the beautiful lights, afterwards we went to Aunt Melanie's house for spaghetti.
My dad was here this past weekend and we celebrated Christmas with him. I can't believe I didn't snap any pictures but we were busy going out to eat, Children's Museum and last night we opened presents with him.

I can't believe Christmas eve is this Thursday. Even more, I can't believe this will be our last Christmas as a family of 3!!

Big Sister Class and Haircut

This past Saturday we went to St.Mary's for Chloe's big sister class. It was super cute and my favorite part was when we got to go up and see where Chloe will meet her baby brother. I told her it's where she was born too, brought back so many emotions.
Afterwards we took her to get her first haircut. I've been putting it off because I thought she would scream throughout it, but she did really good. The special car she got to sit in definitely helped!
I was so happy she had a good first experience with her haircut!!

Baby Brother's Sprinkle

This past weekend our closest friends and family gave us a shower for baby brother! We felt so blessed to have so much support and received so many nice things.
The day of I realized Chloe had a dress that would match the party. The theme will match his nursery. Well, future nursery. Of course my mom made a bunch of food and my friends made the cutest decorations. It was a great time.
Chloe's favorite was the alligator cupcakes, helping open the gifts and hanging out with Ellie and baby Zoe. I even got her to wear a bow because baby Zoe was wearing one, ha!
Can't wait for him to come in about a month and get to use everything. I'm finally feeling pretty much ready after this shower!

Tea with Santa

Yesterday we got to go downtown for tea with Santa!

We had such a fun time. Chloe wasn't sure at first about meeting Santa, but once she realized how fun he was she loved him, and the fact that he gave her a cupcake really helped! First time no tears since she was an infant.
Chloe also enjoyed meeting the snow queen. After she kept asking to go to the north pole to see Santa and his reindeer and the snow queen. So glad we got to meet Santa and Chloe enjoyed it this year, I hope this becomes a fun tradition for us every Christmas.

32 Weeks

How Far Along: 32 weeks!

Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a squash. At my last ultrasound 2 weeks ago he was 3 pounds 2 ounces.

Weight Gain: 15 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yup, except pajama or stretchy pants.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: He is quite the kicker. Moving more and more each day.

Sleep: Okay, but getting harder to be comfortable. I miss sleeping on my stomach.

Symptoms: My back hurts. Tightness and stretching. My skin is unusually dry too.

Food Cravings: Coffee, Chick-fil-A, Bagels!

What I Miss: Cold medicine this week. I've got a bad cold and there is nothing I can take. Dr. said I could take Benadryl, but it makes me so nervous.

Best Moment This Week: We got our pictures back from our maternity family pictures, and I love them. It was such a stress with having to reschedule and plan everything, but in the end I'm glad we did it.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had the best long weekend celebrating Thanksgiving, and we even got an offer on our house!! Of course we weren't expecting it, but we are beyond thrilled. After almost 6 months on the market, it's been a long road here. We close ten days before my scheduled c-section, so we are relieved to be done with it before baby comes. It's such an answered prayer!

So back to Thanksgiving...
We were so thankful that we didn't have to travel this year! Especially with me being so pregnant and a 3 year old. Everyone came over to my mom's house and we ate a lot of good food.

The day after we followed our tradition of getting our Christmas tree.
Today we are going to decorate, and make my favorite Christmas cookies after church. I love the holidays, and this year Chloe really understands everything so it's so much more fun!!
