Mountain Getaway

We just got back from a weekend in the mountains with my dad. He rented a cute little cabin in Luray, Va.
We had fun just exploring the trails and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The forecast called for rain the entire weekend, so we lucked out with just a few showers here and there. We got to roast some marshmallows for smores Saturday night. Chloe was a fan of just the chocolate, lol.
On Sunday we dropped my dad off for his big hike on the Appalachian Trail and we headed into Harrisonburg to meet up with friends.
Chloe had her first d-hall experience. She loved it, and I loved the nostalgia of going back. We walked around campus and took some pictures.
Baby bumps! Next time I see Rebecca she will be a mom! So much has changed since we were in college here, but love that we are still friends. Of course we had to stop by Kline's for pumpkin ice cream before heading home.
Such a fun weekend in the mountains!!

Outer Banks 2015

We've been back from our annual beach trip for a little over a week, so it's time I post about it!
Of course we started our trip with lunch at Captain Franks. We always go there the first day of our trip, it's so good. While waiting to get in the beach house we stopped for ice cream.
The rest of the week we spent at the beach or sound side enjoying the beautiful weather and building sand castles.
Of course we ate out a lot! Some favorites were The Black PelicanSam and OmiesArt's PlaceThe Collington Cafe and Duck Deli
One day we went to the Elizabethan Gardens, a favorite for us.
I'll end the post with a just a few more beach pictures. So many good ones...
We had the best time. It's so weird to think that the next time we go we will be a family of four!!

Chloe's first day of preschool!!

Oh my...how did we get here? Seems like yesterday she was such a tiny baby and now she's going off to school! Yes, it's only 3 days a week for 3 hours but still.....such a huge milestone.
I feel incredibly blessed that she gets to go to such a great school. I used to go to mops at this church before we moved to NC, so I feel very confident about her being there.
Chloe loved it. Her teacher said she did great, and Chloe said she was happy at school. She said she played with blocks and built a tower and a castle. She took care of a baby doll who slept and ate. She played outside on the playground. Of course I cried a little when I dropped her off. I have left her many times at the Y child watch or church nursery, but I've always been in the same building as her.
One more of her in her new classroom. So excited for the upcoming school year!

21 Weeks Update

How Far Along: 21 weeks.

Size of Baby:  Baby is the size of a carrot.

Weight Gain: 5 pounds altogether. I gained 3 pounds last month which seems like a lot, oh well. I think I'm bigger this time around.

Maternity Clothes: If it's not a t-shirt or stretchy, it's maternity.

Gender: BOY! We found out last Friday we are having a baby boy. Chloe will have a baby brother, we are so excited!

Movement: Lots of movement at night. Some big kicks too.

Sleep: Okay. I wake up with my back hurting most nights, just hard to get comfortable sometimes.

Symptoms:Just tiredness, which I'm thankful that is all right now. Took longer to get rid of some first trimester symptoms so I'm trying to enjoy the glorious second trimester.

Food Cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary yet.

What I Miss: I miss sleeping on my stomach. Also, this nice fall weather is always my favorite time to run, so I'm missing that.

Best Moment This Week: Finding out it was a boy and sharing the news with our family. Also, the 20 week ultrasound, baby boy looked healthy!

A little shy of 21 weeks at the Elizabethan gardens last week on vacation. Bump is growing!
