Playroom Update

I've been meaning to post pictures of the playroom since I took them about a month ago, and since it's almost August I thought I should get on it.
Most of the furniture in this room was from our family room back in Richmond or mine in college.
The little reading nook might be my favorite part. This shelf used to hang above the sofa with pictures but I thought it would be cute for books, especially at Chloe's height. She loves taking them down and putting them back up.
I got these nursery rhyme prints for free here, www.mrprintables.com.

Hope you enjoyed the mini tour. This is one of my favorite rooms in the house. I never thought I would love a playroom so much, but I do!

#waterbaby

We've been having lots of fun in the water this summer, and since I'm not the best at keeping this blog up to date I thought I would combine two fun days at the pool.
Last week we went to the splash park at Tanglewood with our good friends Olivia and Kelli. Chloe absolutely loved it. They had a great play area with all sorts of fountains.
Definitely want to take her back before summer is over.
Today Chloe had her first swim lesson at the Y. She was skeptical when we first got there, but once we got in the water and started playing with balls and singing she loved it.
I'm so glad Chloe loves the water, hope it doesn't change as she gets older. Love my water baby.

A Week in Richmond

Me and Chloe rode back to Richmond with my mom after the long fourth of July weekend. We loved being able to see so many friends and family while there.
We went to our favorite pool at The Dominion Club, went out to lunches and shopping.
Chloe was enamored with the fountain at Short Pump Town Center.
I wanted to take Chloe to Maymont on Saturday. When we got there after nap, lunch, etc. we saw it was closing early for an event. We tried to make the most of our time, taking pictures and seeing some goats.
The only down part to the trip was when my mom got bit by her cat our first day there. It was bad, but after a few days she was fine, couldn't go back to work so we got some extra time with her.

Since moving away I really love coming back to Richmond, and really treasure my time with the people I love there. I def. don't take it for granted.

4th of July

I am so behind on blogging, but thought I would start with the 4th of July.

Our church had a cookout, but it was rainy so we ended up having it inside. Of course Chloe's favorite part was the food!
They had a bunch of bouncy houses, Chloe wasn't too interested though. She was all about pushing the stroller around with her buddy Graham, haha.
My mom came down for the weekend, and we all loved having her here. We didn't do much, but did go to Old Salem, like we did last year.
We also got to go out to eat at some of our favorite restaurants, Mozelles, and Fourth Street Filling Station. That Sunday I headed back to Richmond with my mom. I'll post about our busy and fun week next!

House Update: Hallway

Thought I would share the gallery wall in our hallway.

Hallway Update

This is the hallway that leads from our garage into the house, and also to the half bath. I walk by it several times throughout my day so I wanted something happy and personal. Here is what I came up with:

Most of the frames were in our family room in our house in Richmond, I just updated some of the pictures. It was nice to get them out of boxes after almost 9 months.

Up next the play room!!

House Update: New Home for Grandma's Furniture

It's been awhile since I updated about the house and I've done some fun things (and actually taken pictures) so here is the first of hopefully three house updates.

Dinning Room Update

We have dinning room furniture now! Back in April my mom sent down my grandma's dinning room furniture with movers. She downsized and when we bought this house she asked if we wanted my grandma's dinning room furniture since it didn't work in her new house. It fits perfectly here and we love it.
The chairs had pink seashell fabric on them, which wasn't really my taste. I recovered them with fabric I got at Hobby Lobby, which was actually really easy. I absolutely love them.
It still needs a rug, I wanna change the hardware and I'm thinking of painting the table top black. But for right now I'm really happy with it. I love the fact that it's been passed down through 3 generations. I remember growing up with this furniture in our dinning room, eating many Christmas and Thanksgiving meals around this table, it definitely makes our house feel like a home.
