Savannah

On the way back from Florida we decided to break up the 12 hour drive and stop in Savannah overnight. Both of us had never been so we thought it would be fun to explore the city.
First thing in the morning we stopped at Savannah Coffee Roasters. It was really quaint and cute, and their danish was amazing. Then we went to Juliette Gordon Low's birthplace. As a former girl scout I wanted to see where it all started.
They were selling cookies there, so of course I had to get some. Then we headed to Forsyth Park. This was our favorite part, it was beautiful but also because Chloe absolutely loved it.
Chloe actually cooperated for pictures here, which was rare for this trip. She saw this cute chalk drawing and just sat right down. They also had two really great playgrounds which she loved.
We walked around the city, grabbed some lunch and then got in the car to head home. Wish we had some more time, but glad we got to see what we did, Savannah was a cute little city.

Flamingo Gardens and Flash Backs

I'm finally getting around to updating the last parts of our trip on the blog. I've been sick, but glad to say finally feeling better.
The last full day in Florida we went to Flamingo Gardens. They had lots of animals and gardens to see, Chloe loved it.
After Flamingo Gardens we stopped by our old house. It was about 2 miles away and I thought it would be neat to see our old house where I have so many memories.
I lived here when I was 2-8 years old. This is where I remember living in Florida. It was a lifetime ago, but going back brought back the memories, it was fun.

Next, I'll post about stopping in Savannah on the way back!

Snow Day!

In just a few days we went from this...
to this....
We've had a fun snow day. This is the first snow that Chloe has been old enough to really enjoy and play in. Last year's snow she wasn't even walking yet, hard to remember.
Clarke went into work late, and Chloe loved having him home. She keeps saying "snow! snow! snow!" I think she is going to be sad when it all melts away.

Road Trip South

We just got back from 8 days on the road. Visiting my dad in Florida and one night in Savannah, we traveled over 1600 miles, but had a great time.
We spent most days just playing on the beach or in the pool. Chloe loved it, today she put on her sunglasses and asked to go to the beach. I told her it's going to snow instead, ha.
Sunday we had a big cookout, and all my family on my dad's side came down, as well as my grandpa (mom's dad). It was so great seeing everyone. It was also Chloe's first time meeting some.
One day we walked down to the water fountains/splash park. Chloe loved playing in the water.
Another day I tried paddle boarding. I have wanted to try it for a few years now, and they were renting them right by my dad's place so I thought why not? It was really really fun. At first I fell off but after about 10 or 15 minutes I got the hang of it. Of course the next day I was sore, but I would definitely do it again.
We definitely enjoyed the sunshine, warm weather and family. Made the 12 hour car ride down worth it. Side note: Chloe did great in the car. I was really nervous about it, but with the help of Daniel Tiger episodes and some snacks we made it.

I'll post more about the trip soon!!

Hello February

Hard to believe it's already February! Here's what we've been up to...
Saturday morning we went to one of Chloe's friend's birthday party. She had so much fun playing with all her toys, eating and socializing. When I asked Chloe if she was ready to go she said "No!"
Best shot we could get of the four of us. The girls were obviously not into it.

After the party I hopped into the car and drove up to Richmond for the night. I had dinner with the girls to celebrate Lori's birthday, and then breakfast with my mom in the morning. It was such a quick trip but worth the drive for some much needed girl time. Clarke was so great to watch Chloe, and she loved her special daddy time.

Sunday we went to a Super Bowl party at our neighbor's house. Of course Chloe didn't want to leave this party either at half time. I was so tried I was in bed when Chloe was and didn't see the end of the game, oh well.

And I'll end with something random, but lovely.
I'm loving this song, especially the lyrics.
