Help!

Okay, so I can normally figure out how to tweak the blogger code to make it do cool things. (Like the font in my sidebars.) But I can't figure out how to add a reply button to my comments. I know there are other people out there who use blogger and will reply to my comments, and I want to do the same.

Of course I googled this and found some sites with code to add, but it isn't working. Any ideas? Help!

Ikea!

Yesterday me and hubby made a trip to one of my favorite stores: IKEA! I love Ikea, and having one just a little over an hour away is so nice. I wanted to get the same curtains that we currently have in the master bedroom.
I know they look like plain white curtains, but the fabric actually has some texture to it. I forgot to measure the windows before we left so I'll have to make a trip to Target to get the curtains rods.
I also got these vases to sit on our bookcase. I have been looking for some but could only find super expensive ones at Crate and Barrel, so I was happy to find them!

And that was about the only really exciting thing I did this weekend (except play Wii Just Dance 2 with some girlfriends, which made me want a Wii of my own, it was soooo much fun!)

A Sunny Day at HSC

Today we got to enjoy the nice weather we've been having here in Virginia! Although it was really windy, it was sunny and in the 60s. We went to Hampden Sydney College (my husband's alma mater) to watch his cousin play baseball (he plays for Rutgers and they were playing HSC).
Us with some of Clarke's family. Can you tell how windy it was by the pic?
We walked around campus reminiscing about when we were dating, and I would come visit him here. It was fun, and brought back so many fond memories. And then my camera ran out of batteries. Oh well.

Can't wait for more sunny warm days soon!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Haven't linked up over at this kind of love for awhile, so thought I would today. I have a lot to be thankful for.......

I am loving this blog: No Greater Joy. I stumbled upon it the other day and couldn't stop reading. This family has seven children, four of them adopted with special needs. Their story is amazing.

I am loving this tea.
My mom got it for me while I was sick and it saved me. I am still drinking like 4 cups a day.

As always I am loving Clarke and Betty. But even more these past few days.
Clarke has been taking care of me and Betty has kept me company on the couch.

I am loving this music video by David Crowder Band:

I am loving that Friday the high is 74 degrees! I can't wait. I am also loving all the spring stuff out in the stores. I'm so ready!

And that is what I am loving today!!!

The Winter Blues

I have the winter blues.....without a doubt. I want spring, and I want it now.

I hate to wish time away. I know I should enjoy everyday, and I try to. But by this time in the winter, I am just so ready for some warmer weather and fun things planned for the spring.

I'm ready to go camping again, and to spend more time running outside instead of on the treadmill. I'm ready to break out my cute springs clothes and go to the pool (okay maybe not ready for a bathing suite yet, but ya know what I mean.)I'm ready to be able to go outside for recess. I'm ready for the sunshine.

Today I am home sick from work. Blah. Last night when I got home from bible study I felt achy all over. And very cold. Then hot and sweaty. I woke up drenched with sweat. My throat is killing me.

Sorry to be a Debbie downer. On the positive side I am very thankful for my husband. Thankful for him bringing me advil in bed, and calling to check on me. Thankful for him making me dinner and making sure I'm okay. He's the best and I don't know what I would do without him.

I am feeling better already, and hoping this is just a 24 hour bug. In the meantime, I'll be waiting for spring.

Mom's Famous Caesar Salad

I recently realized that I have never shared my mom's famous caesar salad recipe! Growing up this was a staple in my house. And still to this day when my mom has us over for dinner, she always has to make this salad, it's so good.

Mom's Famous Caesar Salad:
serves 6 (but me and hubby will eat the whole thing by ourselves!)

1/3 cup olive oil
2 tbs lemon juice
3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
dash of salt and pepper
mix and let sit 1 hr (if I don't have time I just let it sit as long as possible to let the flavors mix well)
add:
1/4 tsp dry mustard (I prefer Coleman's)
1 tsp worcestshire sauce
stir with fork, add torn pieces of romaine lettuce
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
croutons (I prefer garlic and onion)
toss well until coated
Okay, so here is the part that freaks some people out. Add one raw beaten egg. This never bothered me, I grew up eating this salad, so it was just normal. But I promise, if you mix the salad well it tastes really good. Just try it!
You can add some more parmesan cheese to the top, serve immediately and enjoy!!

Denver and Charlotte

In the spring hubby and I are planning trips to visit our cousins. Mine lives in a really fun place and is leaving soon, and his cousin is getting married!

My cousin lives in Vail, Colorado. We are flying into Denver because it is so much cheaper, but we are planning on spending a day there. His cousin is getting married in Charlotte, N.C.

So here is where I need your help. I need advice about where to eat and what to do. It's been a long time since I've been to Charlotte and both of us have never been to Denver.

I know the one thing I must see while we're in Denver......
Ahhh!! The Denver Art Museum! Designed by my favorite living architect Daniel Libeskind. This was his first building in the United States, and I've been wanting to see this place for awhile now.

I've been checking this out for ideas so far. But it can be a little overwhelming, so give me your advice!

The Little Things

It's the little things in life that make it good!

Things like.....

Homemade sugar cookies. (They are suppose to be bears, because that is what hubby and I call each other.)

Betty's smiling face! Love her!! (I am getting better at photographing her.)

Going for a run at Echo Lake. And just deciding to keep going, cause your feeling good, and hitting your goal (10k). It's very exciting!! (This is my friend's little girl, at Echo Lake a long time ago, just found this pic on my computer!!)

Booking our plane tickets to go visit my cousin out in Colorado. We can't wait!!!! Both of us have never been, in fact Clarke has never even been out West. (Me and my cousin with the best Grandma ever.)

I love the little things in life. Cookies, Betty, Running, Family and Travel.

Oh yeah, and random pictures to go along.
