Life Lately

Not much has been going on around here lately, but here is a little update:

I'm very proud of myself, I finally left Chloe with someone other than a family member. First last Friday at MOPS, I was in the room next door, but still it was a big step for this mommy. Then last Sunday at the church nursery. I'm so happy she did great at both places. No tears and great reports both times, it definitely gives me peace to know I can leave her and she'll be fine.

As some of you know yesterday morning we went to see a pediatric cardiologist. They found a heart murmur at Chloe's last doctor's appointment and wanted us to get it checked out. I am so happy that her heart is normal and healthy. They said some babies just have them, but after doing an EKG and ultrasound they have ruled out anything harmful. This is such an answer to my prayers, because even though my doctor told me not to, of course I worried. It makes me even more thankful for a healthy, beautiful baby girl.

I am so looking forward to Spring. It's been rainy and cold here and it makes me just want to stay inside all bundled up! I can't wait to be able to take Chloe to the playground and parks soon.

I've been really trying to get Chloe on a good eat/wake/sleep routine. It's gotten better and she is sleeping a lot better at night. She still is waking up twice to eat at night, around 1-2 and 5-6 she wakes up like clockwork. But, putting her down is so much better than it used to be, no more tears, which is the best. I've also learned I need to be flexible because I need a life, so sometimes that means deviating a little bit. She has been doing really well and it makes me so happy when people compliment how content she seems.

My Tiny Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day! I've gotten to spend today with this little girl.
We met daddy for a walk around the mall by his work and he is grilling us steaks for tonight! I also made a special dessert.
This was our outfit yesterday, I love all her cute Valentine's clothes.

So thankful for both of my Valentine's this year!!

Chihuly

This past weekend we left Chloe with my mom and went on a date at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. It was the last weekend of Chihuly's glass exhibit. I had been wanting to go, and I'm glad we finally found the time before it left because it was amazing.
These sculptures were huge. Most of them were taller than me, they were really beautiful.
It's definitely harder to do this sort of stuff with an infant, but I'm glad we did!!

3 months!!

Dear Chloe,
Today you are 3 months old! It seems like you have changed so much this past month, you are becoming more and more aware of the world around you. You love anything that dangles above you, whether it be on your activity mat, swing or carseat. You are so interested and smile so big. You have started reaching for them as well. You kick your legs so hard and get excited. 2 days ago you rolled over from your tummy to your back, I was so proud! Your new thing is putting your hand in your mouth, sometimes you want this and your pacifier. You have also started sitting in your bumbo, you look like such a big girl in it, but you enjoy this as well.

You have finally outgrow your newborn clothes. You are in size 0-3 months now and size 1 diapers when we use disposables. You have definitely grown so much this past month.

You have finally transitioned into your crib at night. You seem to really like it now. You definitely are mobile though! I'll put you in there horizontally, and when I come in at night or the morning you have turned yourself around almost 45 degrees! You still wake up at night to nurse, about 1 or 2 times, but I think we have a really good routine down and you almost always go right back to sleep afterwards. I really don't mind waking up with you, it's our special time, the whole world is so quiet, it's just you and me together.

You nap about 3 times a day. In the morning for about 30 minutes, then a longer afternoon nap, about 2-3 hours then a short mid afternoon nap again. You are still a good eater, eating every 2-3 hours during the day.

I know I say this on every monthly update, but I love being your mom! You are such a happy and smiley baby and you bring me so much joy. One of my favorite parts of the day is walking into your room in the morning and seeing that big smile on your face. I love you so much and I can't imagine my life now without you in it.
Love always,
 Mommy

MOPS and Kindermusik

When Chloe was first born I was so busy learning how to take care of her and just adjusting to being a new mom that our days were pretty full. I knew after the holidays I would be ready to start doing other things and I would need to get out of the house more. So besides going to the gym or taking a walk around the neighborhood we have started doing some new things!

I have started going to MOPS on Friday mornings. It alternates between weekly meetings and bible study. So far I have really enjoyed it. It's been such a great place for me to meet other stay at home moms with young children.

Today we went to our first Kindermusik class. I didn't even know Richmond had a music studio that offered these classes until I saw it in Living Social. I had heard great things about it and today we definitely weren't disappointed. Chloe had such a great time, it was really cute. She is so much more aware of what is going on around her now, she just took all the other babies, music and instruments in. I love how the instructor explains how the different movements or finding the steady beat helps with their development and learning.
I took this picture of her right before we left for music class, I thought she looked so cute!

The Bumbo, No Tears and Sophie

Some random things that have been going on around here....

I am happy to say we finally had a bath with no tears!
It only took almost 3 months but she finally seemed to somewhat enjoy bathtime. I think it will still take awhile for her to really love it but we are getting there.

We put her in the Bumbo chair for the first time this week, and she loved it.
She looks like such a big girl in it, but I think she looks so cute!
I love how she is looking at Clarke in this picture, so cute!

We also introduced her to Sophie, her little toy giraffe.
I remember when I was pregnant I would see "Sophie the giraffe" at all the baby stores, so my mom finally bought one for her. Chloe really loves Sophie, she put her arm around her when she held her for the first time. She'll smile when we squeak her, it's quite adorable.
