On Running...

They say it takes about a month for something to become a habit. Well, it's been about 5 weeks since I started running so I am hoping it has really become a new habit.

I started running because some friends of mine would go running on Monday nights. I thought this is a great way to get some exercise in and catch up with them all at the same time. Well, I decided to keep running on my own so I would be able to keep up with them! This then led to a conversation about running the Monument Avenue 10k. This led to more motivation on my part. So, for a little over a month now I have been running to get ready for this race. Our goal is to run the entire thing.

It is amazing what some motivation will do for ya. Since graduating from college I have wanted to be more active. I would always start out strong, vowing to go to the gym more, but it would never stick. Yes I started playing golf, which is good exercise, but not at the same intensity as running.

This time I think it will last. At least until the race in April. Me and my dear friend are determined! And now that I have posted this for everyone to see I must do it. Ha! So wish me luck, and stay posted for updates. I am gonna run that race come April 2!

Hope it lasts girl -- thats awesome and can't wait to hear more about the 10k. Go girl!
